Product Advantages: • Low resistant electrical connection without welding or heat involved. Uses a magnet and conductive epoxy.• Fits to any sized pipeline.• Avoids potential damage if plastic pipe insertion is unknown.• Can be used when pipe wall thickness is thin.• No risk of ignition in high risk combustible environments.• Keyhole compatible installation using the NotHot keyhole applicator tool• Low profile connection on pipeline reduces risk of soil stress damage to the connection.• Compatible with a variety of coating patch products.• Coating can be immediately applied at time of installation. The 2-part conductive epoxyapplied under the magnet cures even after external coating patch is applied. Product Configuration: The NotHot system consists of a pre-manufactured metal “saddle” provided with a factory attached wire and embedded neodymium magnet. The product is offered in three configurations: Double Test Lead Kit – Includes 2/each magnetic saddles with 20 feet of #12 AWG solid wire, HMWPE insulation, 1/each, 2-part conductive epoxy kit (for 2 saddles) #4 Current Connection Kit - Includes 1/each magnetic saddle with a crimp connector for #4 AWG cable (supplied separately), 1/each, 2-part conductive epoxy kit (for 1 saddle) #6 Current Connection Kit - Includes 1/each magnetic saddle with a crimp connector for #6 AWG cable (supplied separately), 1/each, 2-part conductive epoxy kit (for 1 saddle) A Keyhole Applicator Tool is sold separately for use when installing the NotHot connector in a keyhole pipeline excavation. Easy Installation The NotHot connector is installed on prepared pipeline surface, which must be clean, bare metal. The conductive epoxy is applied to the connector, which is placed on the pipeline surface. The provided magnet holds the connector in place on the pipeline while the conductive epoxy dries. The NotHot is a unique and effective way to install cathodic protection test lead wires or current carrying wires to a steel pipeline.
